PRIVATE YOGA INSTRUCTION

I offer private yoga instruction at my studio in New York City, which is conveniently located on the Upper West Side at:

Jason’s Studio
155 W. 72nd Street, #601
(between Amsterdam & Columbus)

I may also be able to come to you in your home or office for an additional fee (please inquire).  If you are ready to schedule a session, please visit the Availability & Booking page.

Why Private Yoga?

There are many additional benefits that are not available in group classes:

  1. the instruction is more personalized, which ultimately leads to more skillful and efficient progress

  2. specific postures and sequences can be chosen that address your unique musculo-skeletal imbalances, with an aim toward correcting those imbalances

  3. modifications and alternatives are offered for postures that are more challenging for your particular body type, strength & flexibility

  4. the pace and intensity of the practice can be adapted to your needs and goals (i.e., some like a vigorous and athletic practice, some prefer a mellow practice with an emphasis on stress reduction, some like to stop and start and spend more time on just a handful of postures, etc.)

  5. you have the the opportunity to stop and ask questions, which is traditionally a very important part of learning yoga

  6. you can receive support and guidance around developing a personalized home practice

  7. you can develop a deeper and more meaningful student/teacher relationship

The Nature of Your Private Yoga

When we first meet, I’ll have you complete a comprehensive health questionnaire so that I’m aware of any injuries (previous or current) that you are working with, as well as any unique health considerations that may effect your ability to do some of the yoga postures.  We’ll sit down and talk about your needs & goals.

  1. increase muscular strength, endurance and flexibility;

  2. improve balance and proprioception;

  3. increase concentration and mindfulness;

  4. decrease stress and anxiety; and

  5. enhance overall feelings of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being
